Sierra Leone Ambassador Hosts Bilateral Meeting with Tanzanian and Gabonese Counterparts in South Korea

Seoul, Wednesday 24 September 2025 – Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to South Korea, H.E. Paul Sobba Massaquoi, has hosted a bilateral meeting with the Ambassador of Tanzania to South Korea, H.E. Togolani Edriss Mavura, and the Ambassador of Gabon, H.E. Landry Mboumba, who also serves as Deputy Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors (AGA).

The meeting, which also marked the Gabonese envoy’s courtesy visit to Sierra Leone’s new embassy, was aimed at fostering solidarity, friendship, and deeper diplomatic cooperation among African missions in South Korea.

Key issues discussed included: 

Collective alignment and strategic support among African embassies.

Recognition and endorsement of African English-speaking tutors by the Government of Korea.

Exploration of joint proposals for future diplomatic and cultural engagement.

Evaluation of ongoing participation in diplomatic functions and forums.

Strategies for stronger and unified representation of African interests in South Korea.

Ambassador Massaquoi expressed gratitude for the visit, extending warm greetings on behalf of H.E. President Julius Maada Bio. He underscored the importance of unity and mutual support among African representatives in South Korea.

In response, Ambassadors Mavura and Mboumba reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation with Sierra Leone and expressed eagerness for continued deliberations on matters of common interest.
